The best time to go on holiday in Andalusia depends on your preferences and the activities you wish to enjoy. Spring, from March to May, is one of the best times to visit the region, with pleasant temperatures of between 20 and 25°C and nature in full bloom. This is also the season for festivals, such as the Feria de Abril in Seville, which adds a festive touch to your stay.
Autumn, from September to November, offers a mild, comfortable climate, ideal for exploring the cities and enjoying outdoor activities. Temperatures remain pleasant, and there are fewer tourists than in summer.
On the other hand, the summer months, from June to August, can be very hot, with temperatures often exceeding 35°C, especially inland. If you choose to visit during this period, it’s best to plan morning or evening activities and head for the beaches of the Costa del Sol to cool off.
Winter, from December to February, has cooler temperatures, between 5 and 15°C, but sunny days can make for a pleasant visit. This is an excellent time to explore the historic sites without the crowds.
Discover the 5 must-do activities to enjoy with the whole family during your stay in Andalusia, a destination where every day holds its share of captivating discoveries for young and old alike. Relax under the Spanish sun and explore unique natural and cultural treasures.
This emblematic palace is a must-see for all the family. Children will be fascinated by the Moorish architecture and the magnificent gardens. Plan a guided tour to discover the fascinating history of this UNESCO World Heritage site.
The town of Ronda, perched on impressive cliffs, offers spectacular views and historic bridges. You can explore the old town, visit the bullring and enjoy the surrounding countryside on family walks.
Enjoy the golden sandy beaches and warm waters of the Costa del Sol. Beaches such as Marbella and Torremolinos are perfect for days of swimming and family games. You’ll also find plenty of water sports activities.
Discover the incredible biodiversity of this park, home to numerous species of birds and animals. You can take a guided tour by jeep or on foot, which will delight little adventurers looking to explore.
Add a boat trip on the River Guadalquivir in Seville to your list. It’s a relaxing and picturesque way to discover the city from the water. You can admire the main monuments, such as the Torre del Oro and the Cathedral, while enjoying a different view. Some excursions include commentaries on the history of the city, making the experience both fun and educational for all the family. It’s a great way to spend some quality time together and explore Seville in a different way.
Plan your visits: Some sites, such as the Alhambra, require advance bookings, especially in high season. Take the time to plan your visits to avoid long queues and maximise your time on site. Also, try to start your days early to take advantage of the cooler temperatures and avoid the crowds.
Use public transport: Public transport, such as buses and trains, is very practical in Andalusia and can make getting around much easier. Remember to buy tickets in advance for journeys between major cities, such as Seville, Granada and Malaga, to save time.
Bring appropriate clothing: Andalusia can be hot, especially in summer. Bring light clothing, hats and sun cream to protect your family from the sun. Don’t forget warmer clothes for the evenings, as it can get chilly, especially in mountainous areas.
