Escape and relaxation at Lux Belle Mare, Mauritius

Last October, we decided to travel around Mauritius for a week with my wife and my son Maxime. We stayed in several hotels of the Little Guest collection to discover the family services they offer. Here is the story of the first stage of our journey which started at the Lux Belle Mare Resort Villas *****.

When we arrived in front of the hotel, the luggage handler opened the doors of the taxi and gave us his best smile. As we pass through the large doors of the resort’s entrance, we are immediately immersed in a relaxing atmosphere. We head to the reception where we are warmly welcomed by the staff. They kindly asked our boy « Did you have a good trip Maxime? » while offering him a fresh fruit juice at the same time. The kind of attention that makes parents happy. No jealousy, the adults are also entitled to a lemon grass refreshment.

Between this personalised welcome and the kindness typical of the Creole culture of Mauritius, the staff is incredible. The tone is set, the holidays are going to be extraordinary!

Located on the ground floor, our accommodation spills out onto a beautifully landscaped terrace overlooking the pool and small gardens. We are staying in a Junior Suite – Pool View which has a comfortable king-size bed, a sitting area with a sofa bed for our boy, a large dressing room and a spacious bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. We are also delighted to find a few extras: little cakes, a bag for Maxime, bathrobes and slippers for the three of us. The size was sufficient for our little family, no negative points to mention on this side.

Lux* Belle Mare Resort Villas has a secure kids’ club, which is free of charge and full of toys. The conditions of access are clearly and visibly communicated. There are 4 activity leaders present for a total of 12 children maximum. My son and I tried new things in a number of workshops such as bread making, making and knowing the secrets of good chocolate (with cocoa beans from Mauritius) and making homemade ice cream. The supervision is superb and so are the activities on offer.

The hotel’s swimming pool is really child-friendly with entry areas only 50 cm deep to ensure their safety.

Time to relax! The spa is luxurious, beautiful and has its own range of cosmetics and oils. It offers a full range of treatments at reasonable prices. Not to mention the incredible tea bar with no less than 88 varieties to enjoy for extra relaxation. As for the fitness room, it is trendy and well equipped. There is also a large terrace outside to enjoy group sports classes with a wellness coach who gives advice and tips during work sessions. It’s hard not to find something you like with the wide range of options for recharging your batteries.

If you are short of something during your stay, it is possible to book baby equipment such as a pushchair, bottle warmers, etc.

The hotel offers several restaurants (including two gourmet ones) and bars, all with different cuisines. We had the opportunity to taste some simply excellent dishes. we take the opportunity to thank Chef Pascal again, to whom we give a 10/10!

The waiting time between dishes is about 15 minutes, the menus are varied, there is a choice at the buffet, the products are fresh, there is a good quality/price ratio… in short, a top service! The restaurants are kid-friendly, there are tailor-made menus for children, high chairs, plastic dishes and colouring.

Another interesting aspect is the hydroponic farm located right in front of the hotel, which allows many vegetables to be grown in a more ecological way and thus end up directly on the plate.

This holiday clearly exceeded our expectations, the Lux Belle Mare Resort Villas is an upmarket and very aesthetically pleasing boutique hotel. We recommend this establishment to families with children of all ages. To conclude this first stage, we will retain especially the unequalled kindness of the personnel, the restful framework, the small attentions and the excellent meals. We will return here with great pleasure the next time we visit the island.
