Family trip to the Onyria Marinha Boutique Hotel

For our little week of vacation in family, we decided to head to Portugal. With my husband and our two children, we took off to Lisbon to then reach the Onyria Marinha Boutique Hotel *****, a hotel full of surprises and a room and services booked through Little Guest.

We’ve been warmly greeted by a member of the welcome desk, and our luggage was immediately taken care of. A smiling and satisfying welcome which directly gave us the feeling of being in holiday, at last. Our check-in only took less than 5 minutes, without a single problem. Moreover, a member of the personnel brought to each of our children a little gift bag which contained a pair of sandals, a cap and a teddy toy!

In general, the sympathy of the personnel is a greatly positive point, and everyone was kind and cordial to our children, not to mention the equipment that was installed for them in the room which had been reserved prior to arriving to the hotel. However, we would have appreciated a welcome fruit juice for them, and a refreshing drink for us, parents. Drinks were available in a self-service area, but none had spontaneously proposed to us.

We then reached our room which had been prepared before our arrival. A comfortable and spacious accommodation, and plenty of pillows for everyone! A fruit tray with chocolates and pastries was expecting us, and our children were so happy about it. We were also offered a small bottle of a local alcohol speciality.

We had everything we needed in our room: bathrobes, both for parents and children, slippers, bath amenities and skin care in the bathroom, and there even was a step for children to reach the washbasins and the mirrors! A baby cot and a bunk bed were there to the disposal of our children. Once we had discovered everything that was there, we eventually rested and enjoyed our view on the golf courts. The decoration felt a bit outdated, but we enjoyed a large space for us all and a rarely equalled calmness.

Children can roam freely, even at the spa! They are welcome there, and the menu that is proposed is very affordable and varied, although we eventually thought that given the number of guests in the hotel, the facility looked rather small.

The catering at the restaurant was impeccable, fast and courteous, and the infrastructure was clean. A varied menu, with the possibility of ordering a kids menu, not to mention the high chairs for the younger children. The height of the buffets are adapted to children, and colouring mats are offered to them for them to wait patiently, and baby food is also available! In other words, children and parents had something to meet their expectations.

We had several choices for our dinners, which allowed us to discover new experiences every night. The buffet of the main restaurant wasn’t that extraordinary, yet the breakfast buffet completely convinced us all.

We then headed to the kids-club for our children to have a wonderful time with the entertainers, and we were not disappointed. The kids-club is free, and the staff speaks English and Spanish. The way to get there is indicated clearly. 6 entertainers were there when we arrived, and the place seems secure, a bonus for parents who then can rest easy and confident. The personnel is very welcoming, friendly and thoughtful, a reassuring and funny place!

We also had the chance to try the baby-club with our youngest child, at very reasonable rates, especially given the fact that the members of the staff are reactive and thoughtful. They show love for the work they do and give the sensation of bringing great care to the children, which is an excellent point. Finally, the hotel puts everything in place in order to provide with all the necessary equipment for baby and young children, as long as it was reserved prior, and restaurants provide with changing tables.

We were highly surprised of the care that is given to children and babies, all of such in a very pleasant setting, adorned with gardens and offering a large space. A truly kids-friendly hotel for families, a very positive experience that we will gladly renew!
