In the middle of September, my companion and I headed to Sardinia for a few days of holiday. After a few nights in the north, at the Valle dell’Erica Resort (don’t hesitate to read my feedback about it), we drove across the island to the Forte Village Resort, located near Cagliari. Here I give you my impressions, my favourites and my (rare) disappointments.
Comprising five hotels and countless leisure and entertainment facilities, the Forte Village Resort is ideal for families looking for activities and fun. We chose to stay at the Dune, one of the quietest hotels in the resort. When we arrived, the valet couldn’t take care of our car because of the hygiene measures to combat the Covid-19 epidemic, but he came to pick us up, along with our luggage, in a golf cart. While our suitcases were being taken to our room, we were taken to the hotel reception where everything was ready to test the newcomers before their check-in. I would like to underline the impeccable organisation and responsiveness shown by the hotel staff to manage the situation in the best possible way.
After receiving our results – which were negative – we were able to take off our masks on condition that we stayed within the Resort. I really experienced this as a breath of fresh air and I find this solution absolutely perfect so that everyone can really enjoy their holidays despite the context. A negative point if there is one: I would have liked to be welcomed with a welcome drink. On the other hand, the warm check-in and the clear explanations of the team member in charge of our welcome delighted us!
We stayed in a Le Dune Suite, nestled in a bungalow located two minutes from the hotel reception and offering direct access to a private garden. In addition to offering absolutely impeccable comfort and cleanliness, the room was home to a little surprise: a bottle of champagne and a basket of fresh fruit!
Beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished, this spacious room opens onto a large garden (perfect for young children to have fun under the supervision of their parents) and its absolutely brilliant bathroom equipped with a whirlpool bath filled us with delight.
Still, I think a few improvements could be made to offer a truly perfect service. For example, we were disappointed not to find a coffee maker or tea set in the suite, as we like to be able to enjoy a hot drink without leaving the comfort of our room.
In terms of catering, the Forte Village Resort is a real hit! First of all, the number of restaurants is impressive: from family-friendly buffets to gourmet restaurants run by famous chefs, there is something for everyone.
Although most of them were closed during our stay because, remember, we were in Sardinia at the end of the season, we were still able to take full advantage of the possibilities available to us. We therefore enjoyed a typical Sardinian meal at Le Sardo on the evening of our arrival and enjoyed an exceptional à la carte dinnerat Le Dune the following evening.
For lunch we tried the Beachcomber which, in addition to the undeniable quality of the food served, offers a breathtaking view of the sea…simply magical!
Good surprise to underline because it is not the case everywhere: water and wine consumed in the restaurants are included in the half-board formula. Another positive point: prices remain very affordable for lunch, which is very pleasant considering the resort’s top-of-the-range services.
If there is one thing to remember about the Forte Village Resort, it is its leisure facilities and services perfectly adapted to families and especially children!
The Resort’s extraordinary kids-club is divided into seven separate areas to offer children a wide range of extraordinary activities. Whether they want to become stars in the amphitheatre, have fun in Barbie’s house(unique in Europe), refresh themselves in one of the many swimming pools or set off on an adventure in Mario’s village, one thing is certain: they won’t have time to get bored for a second. As I am no longer (really) a child, I was nevertheless particularly impressed by the Resort’s efforts to please the toddlers.
If this is not enough, your children can also sign up for the various sports academies on offer: basketball, tennis, football, rugby, hockey, but also magic or chess… the offer is simply mind-boggling.
Finally, I have noticed that a crèche and a teen-club are available. These two services (free for children aged 2 to 19) once again reinforce the kids-friendly aspect of the Forte Village.
The Forte Village Resort is undeniably designed for families. Everything is done to welcome them in the best possible conditions and to offer them an optimal quality of service. If you are looking for a holiday combining relaxation and activities, don’t hesitate for a second, book now!
Happy holidays with Little Guest!
