A relaxing weekend at the Radisson Blu Resort, Taghazout Bay Surf Village ****

During the month of September, I had the incredible opportunity to discover a region of Morocco I didn’t know at all, the province of Agadir, and more particularly the surfers’ paradise of Taghazout! After spending a few days at Domaine Villate Limoune, another one of our hotels in Morocco, I hit the road to discover the region’s sumptuous beaches. The gateway to this experience: the Radisson Blu Resort!

Confort and space

As soon as you arrive in this hotel in Taghazout, the charm takes effect; here, there are no large, soulless buildings like you’d find in this region. Instead, we’re greeted by small bungalows, each with a private terrace and served by small paths that you can easily walk along with a stroller! As soon as I arrived, I learned that I’d been upgraded to a duplex bungalow. A luggage handler took my suitcase and accompanied me to the place where I’d be staying for the next two nights!

« Beautiful sea views from the upstairs terrace »

The bungalow I stayed in comfortably sleeps 4 to 5 people, making it the ideal option for families in search of peace and quiet. The two bedrooms offer plenty of space to store everyone’s belongings, and welcome privacy when you’re away with the kids. The big plus: outdoor space! What a pleasure it is to have your own space, with no direct neighbors, and to be able to enjoy the sunshine on the lower terrace and a beautiful view of the sea from the upstairs terrace! The only questionable point is the bathroom, which I found a little small.

Restaurants and infrastructures

The hotel has two restaurants, one buffet and one à la carte. During my stay, the à la carte restaurant was closed, so I didn’t get a chance to try it. I only tested the buffet restaurant at breakfast, but it offers all the services you’d expect from this type of hotel: pastries, cheeses, eggs on demand, hot and cold drinks, vegetables and cereals. I also saw several families having breakfast, and noticed that the children were comfortably seated in high chairs! A little tip: for dinner, if you’d like to discover Moroccan gastronomy on your way out of the hotel, it’s only a 15-minute walk to the fishing village of Taghazout, where you’ll find several seaside restaurants!

This hotel in Taghazout also has a private beach with a bar where you can sip a cocktail and watch the kids play in the golden sand! And let’s talk about the beach! It stretches for several kilometers and offers a wide range of leisure activities: buoyancy, camel rides, buggies, jet-skiing, horseback riding, surfing of course, or simply enjoying the waves close to the shore for toddlers and a little further out for the more adventurous.

Finally, the hotel’s kids’ club offers indoor activities when the heat is really too much, but concentrates on outdoor activities when it’s not. On the program: aquatic activities at the pool, Playstation, treasure hunts, games on the beach, cooking classes, board games, etc.

« The hotel lends itself perfectly to family vacations »

While the hotel is undeniably aimed at a surf-oriented clientele, it lends itself perfectly to family vacations. The pool is equipped with a children’s area and toys are available for children and adults to learn to surf, whatever their age. Kayaks and bicycles can be rented for rides along the sea, so there’s no shortage of options to keep the whole family entertained.

Conclusion

I spent two very pleasant days at this hotel and highly recommend it to families looking for a place off the beaten track with direct access to a magnificent sandy beach!
