In April, we stayed at the Club Med in Peisey-Vallandry. Here are our impressions.
As always at Club Med, the welcome was very warm. Our room was ready upon arrival, and we sipped on a welcome fruit juice while receiving the village map and practical explanations.
The skis and boots we had reserved through the Little Concierge service of Little Guest were also ready in our lockers. The equipment is of good quality and perfectly suited to the different levels we had communicated beforehand.
I appreciate when everything is taken care of in advance and we can immediately enjoy our vacation.
Our room was a family room offering a separate living room from the parents’ bedroom by a sliding wooden partition. Our child slept on the sofa bed in the living room, which converts into a bed. The living room has a terrace with a lovely view of the mountains and the snow garden where children learn the basics of skiing.
Our room was comfortable and spacious. There is plenty of storage space and large closets, which is very convenient when traveling with family. The bathroom has a bathtub. The room is very well soundproofed, but it lacks a bit of brightness.
The highlight of the hotel is its direct access to the slopes. Every morning and afternoon, ESF instructors come to pick up the children and adults in groups according to each person’s level. These lessons are included in the price of the stay. They allow you to get to know each other and have a good time.
The Peisey-Vallandry resort is located in the vast Paradiski area and is linked to Les Arcs and La Plagne. The area offers hundreds of kilometers of slopes, suitable for all levels. The scenery is very beautiful, with multiple fir forests and a view of Mont Blanc. We were lucky, it snowed just before our arrival, and the sun shone every day.
I really enjoyed the cuisine offered, both at the à la carte restaurant and at the buffet restaurant. The quality of the food and the variety of dishes offered are quite impressive. Fine dishes were offered to us such as foie gras, traditional Savoyard raclette, oysters, and mushroom risotto. The wine served at the table is of very good quality. The main restaurant offers a large sunny terrace at noon. If you are staying with a baby, you will be delighted to learn that a Baby Corner is located in the buffet restaurant. You will find fruit compotes, yogurts, vegetable purees, but also everything you need to prepare the bottle. Convenient!
At the pool, armbands are provided free of charge for young children. The place has a baby paddling pool, a sauna, and a Turkish bath. The place could use a little refreshment. The hotel is really well suited for families, and no less than 200 children were present during our stay. This creates a very nice atmosphere and also holiday friendships. Children can enjoy the kids’ club and indulge in long table tennis games on the table located just in front of the teen area.
The staff is very helpful. Special mention to the charming Zoé, Guest Relations, who took care of us from start to finish and with whom we communicated via WhatsApp. The shows followed by the famous Crazy Signs dances will delight the party animals among you.
We had a very pleasant stay that even exceeded our expectations in some aspects such as gourmet cuisine, the kindness of the staff, and excellent service at all levels!
Good to know:
– If you are not staying in a Suite, you will not have a bathrobe or slippers in your room. Bring a pair of flip-flops to go to the pool.
– Restaurants do not serve soda. Only wine and water are offered. Sodas are only available at the bar.
– Make sure to book your child’s place at the Petit Club or Mini Club in advance using the Little Concierge service from Little Guest, as places are limited. Children enrolled in the Petit Club must eat with their parents.
– The hotel is very large. If you are staying with young children, you should prefer a room located close to amenities.
– The à la carte restaurant is very popular, especially for its famous cheese fondues. Reserve your table upon arrival at the hotel to be sure to have a place.
– The Club Med parking lot does not have charging stations for electric cars, but simple power outlets. Don’t forget your adapter!
