In January, my family and I stayed at Arboisie Megève. Here is our testimony.
The first thing that surprised us was the price of our stay. Indeed, the Arboisie offers quite advantageous rates, especially in comparison with other hotels in Megève. After having tried it, I can tell you that it is an excellent value for money.
The hotel has indeed some nice assets: a beautiful location, a spa, an indoor swimming pool, great free entertainment for children, a free shuttle service, a restaurant with a cosy atmosphere, etc.
We stayed in a suite consisting of a large living room with kitchenette, a large bedroom, a toilet and a bathroom. The suite opened onto a large terrace with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. Our son slept on the sofa bed in the living room. We did not use the kitchenette, but we met families who found it very convenient to have meals delivered to their rooms.
The restaurant is decorated to perfection, with a bohemian chic atmosphere. The breakfast buffet is well stocked with local produce. The staff is very friendly. This kindness really impressed us. Special mention for the sommelier who knows his job perfectly!
Every day, at the end of the afternoon, real Breton pancakes are prepared and offered to the guests. Perfect for après-ski with the kids! Creative activities are organised especially for children in the kids’ club, usually at the end of the day after skiing. The hotel’s spa has a well-stocked treatment menu. The prices are reasonable and the great thing is that children can have their own massages too!
The shuttle service offered by the Arboisie makes it easy to get to the slopes and the centre of Megève. The village is beautiful. It is the perfect place to shop, have an aperitif or dine in a magical atmosphere.
I advise you to walk down the Chemin du Calvaire at least once. This small winding path, once used by pilgrims, is accessible from the hotel and offers magnificent views of the village and the surrounding mountains.
The hotel is also pet friendly. We stayed there with our little dachshund who was allowed to have his bowls installed in the room.
In conclusion, I really recommend this charming address if you are looking for a relaxed, well located and affordable family place.
Jérôme
