Hotel Camiral: family luxury at its best!

I  think traditions are created on happy moments. At times you feel at your best. For us, that means the time we can spend together as a family. Sometimes at home, but most of all when we are on the road, heading for another southern destination. Our tradition since 2006? A summer road trip to Barcelona. We do it every year, never skipped. Not even when our daughter Elodie was only four weeks old. Because this tradition is what makes us happy. Every year. Over and over again.

It was on one of these famous road trips that we discovered the amazing hotel Camiral in Catalunya, Spain. Only a one hour drive from the French border, with wonderful, typical southern scenery, is where you can find this vintage-looking hotel. Moreover, it has been built on the Girona countryside, not too far away (approx. 30minutes) from the Costa Brava beaches and only one hour away from the magnificent city of Barcelona.

Hotel Camiral breathes luxury. Every detail has been thought through and as they want to establish themselves as a family hotel, even the kid’s comfort is highly esteemed. It started by welcoming us as a family, fixing our room with an extra bed and a baby cot and even providing special baby toiletries. When the kids grow up, they have interconnecting rooms to accommodate them comfortably. You have the choice between rooms and suites, which give you a much larger surface to feel 100% at home. Junior suite or duplex suite? Sweet choices ahead!

Also, the kids club is to die for! They have a fantastic playground with a big trampoline and a sort of tower with big ropes where the children can climb into. But then… They organize a complete program with workshops, challenges and interactive games, all guided by certified people who have a heart for children. That is in addition to the kid’s pool and the junior academy where kids can learn the first few things about golf. Did I mention that the hotel is located right next to the green? Restaurant 1477 serves the greatest artisanal, local food. Prepared with delicacy and care, they offer fresh langoustines, prime-aged beef or seafood right from the nearby located Mediterranean. All of them presented with pleasant creativity. And then I haven’t started telling you about the wines which are carefully selected to match your dish.

Great gastronomic service and… The kids are the most important guests on the table. While you are enjoying a fine dinner, the children will be provided with some toys or crayons to keep themselves entertained. That… Plus an enjoyable joke towards the kids from the waiters from time to time makes dining at the hotel a great way to spend the evening!

At hotel Camiral, they encourage their guests to explore the region. To do so, they organize several activities. Why don’t you rent some bikes or maybe even a horse? You can take the challenge and go on an adventurous walk with your compass in one hand and your child in the other. The horse trails are also adapted to children’s needs as they even have ponies available for our little companions! You will be surprised how green the area is and let the hotel staff be your guide!
