Last October, I travelled to Mauritius for a week with my wife and our son Maxime. We stayed in several hotels of the Little Guest collection to discover the family services they offer. Here is the story of the last stage of our journey which ends in the superb Trou aux Biches Beachcomber Golf Resort Spa *****.
On arrival at the front of the hotel, we were greeted by the warm smile of the luggage handler. While he takes care of our luggage, we make our way to the lobby. The hotel is really splendid! Set on a fine sandy beach, we discover an exotic garden of several hectares and magnificent swimming pools, the change of scenery is assured.
During check-in, the staff kindly served us a welcome drink to refresh ourselves: a special juice for Maxime and a fresh juice for the adults. They gave us extremely detailed explanations about all the facilities of the establishment, especially those for children. After 10 minutes, the check-in is finished, a member of staff accompanies us to our accommodation and tells our son that he will have the chance to have his own room.
Again, a warm and personal welcome from the reception. Mauritians are definitely uniquely kind! This is our fourth hotel in Mauritius since we have been here and we have never been disappointed on this point!
Located on the ground floor, we discover a beautiful and spacious room of about 95 sqm, opening on a garden and a common swimming pool. We stay in a family suite with two bedrooms, one of which is a master bedroom with a comfortable king-size bed, a dressing room and a magnificent bathroom with a bathtub, an indoor and an outdoor shower. As for Maxime, he sleeps in the children’s area, which has a bedroom with its own bed and a bathroom just for him. We are also delighted to find a few little treats: delicious cookies, bathrobes and slippers for the three of us, as well as welcome products for adults and babies. We are delighted to be staying in this exotic, stylish and comfortable suite.
In terms of activities, children and parents alike are far from bored!
Every day, children from 3 to 11 years old are welcomed free of charge at the kids-club and looked after by a team of qualified and attentive activity leaders. They have fun in a modern, secure and well-equipped setting, specially designed for the little ones with a private garden, a small swimming pool and a restaurant (they can eat directly at the club as they are looked after until 11pm). The conditions of access are clearly and visibly communicated.
A varied programme was proposed during our holidays: water activities (kayak, pedal boat, glass bottom boat…), creative and discovery workshops, sand castle competitions, chocolate hunt, painting, games on the beach, cooking classes to learn how to make cookies or pizzas… The kids are in heaven! Maxime was even able to water ski at just 3 and a half years old! Of course, he was on a board adapted to his size.
The team also let us know that a baby-sitting service is available to look after the children.
Like the rest of the hotel, the spa is incredible! We were won over by the 3-storey cascading pool and the exotic and very relaxing outdoor massage booths. The therapists are highly qualified, the treatment menu is comprehensive and reasonably priced and detox drinks are available. Adults can also relax in one of the resort’s many pools or by the sea under the shade of the palm trees.
To keep fit, there is a nice fitness room, group and private classes as well as many sports to enjoy. I found that the sports facilities are really good, especially the 6 tennis courts!
The hotel offers several restaurants for all tastes and desires (Indian, Japanese, Italian…), we had the opportunity to try some excellent dishes. The waiting time between meals was less than 15 minutes, the menus are really varied, there is a choice at the buffet, the quality/price ratio is correct, the restaurant staff is very pleasant… In short, impeccable service!
To make it easier for the kids to eat, there are high chairs and some adapted plastic dishes. Despite the limited choice of the buffet for children, the chef can make a customised meal on request. Our little tip: remember to book the restaurants before you go.
Here we are, our stay on this dream island is coming to an end. After a week spent in the various hotels of the Little Guest collection in Mauritius, these last few days at Trou aux Biches Beachcomber Golf Resort Spa ***** have allowed us to end our holidays in beauty.
Once again, this hotel has surpassed our expectations!
Would we recommend this hotel? Of course, we would! This luxurious resort is bordered by a dream beach, there is a wide variety of activities for children, such a nice staff, quality facilities, superb rooms and suites, great hotel service… In short, everything is there to spend a family stay just unforgettable!
See you soon for new adventures with Little Guest!
