For our little Swiss getaway with Little Guest, we decided to settle at La Réserve Genève Hôtel & Spa, a cozy resort with an impregnable glance at Lake Geneva.
The car trip being shorter than scheduled, here we are one hour ahead of time. Very kindly, the staff offered us wine and olives to cope with the hour waiting while the room is being prepared. Big plus, a valet took care of our car after our luggages were taken out and brought in the hotel by the porter.
We decided to wait inside and sit in the lobby to sip our drinks. The lobby is highly designed and comfy, with just the right amount of decoration to avoid a kitch aspect. Better than the storefront of the hotel which looks like it needs a facelift. Check-in was quick and efficient. Staff is very welcoming and totally available for any questions. It took us only five minutes to be registered and brought to our groundfloor room. To our outmost pleasure, the room is incredibly comfortable, just as imagined. Piles of pillows and blankets await us, as well as a bottle of wine, macaroons and cakes. A royal welcoming!
A bath and a bathrobe later, we enjoy a Nespresso coffee enhanced by the beautiful garden view. Scenery and furnitures give a classy statement to the accomodation and contribute to the well-being feeling that flows from its aspect (although the bathroom could use an update). The room is big enough for the two of us and we have plenty of space to leave our belongings without feeling oppressed. And for the families? A staff member confirmed that children also receive toiletries, bathrobes, slippers and so on, available at the desk or already arranged in the room.
In order to go back on the sport track, we head to the fitness room for a little work-out session. We learn that a private coach is available to make you burn calories if needed. By the window, we can contemplate the outdoor tennis courts where dazzling games are taking place. We decide to go to the swimming pool for a couple of back-and-forths in the water, before enjoying some detox refreshments.
But what would be a trip in Switzerland without a relaxing spa? La Réserve put on a pedestal its 2500 sqm Spa Nescens for a unique experience. We couldn’t miss the opportunity to relax our muscles in this huge spa that also boasts an amazing view on the garden. Self-service hot and refreshing drinks are available, as well as nuts and dried fruits, a complimentary enjoyable treat. The spa is also open for children, although they need to be under surveillance of an adult.
After a resting night, we crave for food. Let’s go to the Café Lauren and its detox breakfeast. Food arrives quite quickly and is delicious. The menu is impressive, the prices are fair and the quality is definitely above expectations. Children are not left apart, with high chairs and adapted menus to suit their appetite. Buffet is diversified and eye-catching, and the place is nicely decorated. We fully savour our meal and leave the place enchanted by this intense culinary experience.
We pass by the kids-club, La Petite Réserve, with its fancy setting and its outdoor playing ground. Teepees and games garnish the place and give an African lodge aspect to the club. The creche is similar to the club, clean and comfy, a big plus for parents who want to leave their children in good hands.
We leave the hotel fully satisfied with our stay, beyond expectations. The staff’s thoughtfulness, luxury atmosphere and amenities, quality of the spa and catering excellency really stand out and match with the hotel’s reputation. Children are considered as well in many ways, from their name in the bathroom to the bathrobe via age-adapted activities. If we ever come back to Geneva, we will definitely stay at La Réserve Genève Hôtel & Spa!
Thank you Little Guest, have nice holidays!
