Located in Mauritius, the Lux* Grand Gaube delighted us and we had a pleasant stay with our family in this exceptional and design place. We really appreciated the welcome and the little attentions of the staff towards us and our son. A WARM AND TAILOR-MADE WELCOME

As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we were given a very warm and special welcome. The team took care to call us by our first name and to have a little attention for our young son, Maxime. To keep us waiting during check-in, we were served an excellent welcome drink: a good fresh fruit juice. And Maxime was given a delicious milkshake and a play bag with a soft toy. The reception staff, Géraldine, Jean-Benoît and Ashish, were very smiling and warm. After the check-in, which lasted about 10 minutes, we were accompanied to our room.

A COMFORTABLE AND DESIGN ROOM

Our room was located on the ground floor, at the back, with a superb view of the sea and the hotel gardens. The superior room of 60 m² was already ready when we arrived, and our son was allowed a single bed. The room was very well equipped with a wardrobe for us and Maxime, and also had good quality essentials (shampoo, conditioner and shower gel). A Nespresso coffee machine allowed us to enjoy delicious coffees.

 

A MOMENT OF WELL-BEING FOR TWO

We really enjoyed the luxurious spa and especially the massage sessions. The Lux* gives you a luxurious wellness experience using Carita and Lux* me products for the treatments. The spa pool is very aesthetically pleasing and allows you to escape together and enjoy the moment.

The spa provides guests with detox water as well as a selection of dried fruits and nuts.

The gym is also well equipped and offers free self-service water. Private and group classes are available.

A FINE DINING EXPERIENCE

We tried several restaurants, but our favourite was the main restaurant.

The staff was very attentive and responsive. The restaurant offers a varied menu but also a special children’s menu, an allergen-free menu and a baby menu. We were served very quickly. To keep us waiting, our son Maxime was able to colour on the placemat specially designed for children.

As for the buffet, there is a wide variety of dishes on the different islands, which are very stylish.

We were seduced by the cooking of the chef Dominik, an incredible person with a strong personality and very friendly. He offered us quality dishes and gave us an incredible experience with very fine food.

 

A KIDS’ CLUB FULL OF ACTIVITIES

The hotel offers a free kids club. The animators speak French and there were four animators for every ten children. When we went to the reception, we were pleasantly greeted by the team who greeted Maxime by his first name.  The place offers many activities, creative and craft workshops, a planting workshop in the beautiful garden, etc. The toilets are adapted to children and their size.

The team also let us know that a baby-sitting service is available with one nanny per child. On request, families with babies can also enjoy dedicated facilities such as bottle warmers, pushchairs, baby phones, etc.

We were also able to walk around the very large outdoor garden, with plenty of shaded areas to keep out of the sun.

The only thing missing is a children’s pool.

CONCLUSION

This hotel exceeded our expectations! We recommend it to all families who want to have a pleasant stay in Mauritius.

The hotel is really aesthetic in a retro chic style which we really appreciated. Surrounded by fig and banyan trees, the place gives you the impression of being in a magical place.

In addition to being eco-friendly, the hotel offers high quality food in the restaurant.

We were charmed by the kindness and attention of the staff throughout our stay.

The spa was perfect as were the outdoor yoga and tai chi sessions. Many activities are available such as the choice between a wide variety of sports, water activities, excursions.

 

For an unforgettable stay in Mauritius, the Lux* Grand Gaube is an excellent choice!
