Sacha, mum of two children aged 7 and 14 months

In April, I had the chance to experience a fantastic family getaway at Château Capitoul! I spent 3 nights there with my partner and my two children, aged 7 and 14 months. Here are my impressions.
From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in a haven of tranquility and greenery! The stunning, natural setting pleasantly surprised us. Nestled amidst vineyards, the castle stands proudly, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.
The hotel houses rooms and suites within the castle itself, as well as individual villas, located just next door, nestled on the hillside! It was one of these dream houses that served as our base for the weekend. The hotel team was welcoming and professional, taking care of our luggage upon arrival and escorting us to our villa, all with a smile! It was such a joy to enter this villa with three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom (perfect for the whole family to have their privacy), a spacious living-dining room, and, the cherry on top, a private terrace with a jacuzzi.
A bottle of wine, as well as some local biscuits and honey, were waiting for us in the villa, and I believe these little touches really make all the difference! And as for storage space, there’s plenty! The villa has numerous closets and cabinets, which is perfect for families with babies who often travel with a lot of belongings (blankets, bottles, etc.).
Now, onto the food! The hotel features a gourmet restaurant and a brasserie. We dined at the brasserie every evening, and everything was absolutely delicious! Meats and fishes are grilled, and the vegetables come from the hotel’s garden… The result: tasty dishes prepared with local products, we loved it! The children also had varied and very cool options that deviate from the traditionally offered steak-fries in children’s menus!
The cocktails and mocktails are also very nice! Special mention to breakfast, served in the same restaurant: super varied, lots of local and/or homemade products (the hazelnut spread!!) and fresh fruit juices… What more could you ask for?
As for activities, we didn’t use the kids’ club or babysitting services because we wanted to spend all our time with the children! We took a nice bike ride around the estate thanks to the bikes provided by the hotel, and we enjoyed the jacuzzi many times (it’s really great to be able to enjoy it on your terrace at this season when the hotel pool, which is absolutely incredible, is not yet heated)!
In summary, we had a fantastic stay and we loved it. It wouldn’t be impossible for us to return for a few days in the summer! The big positives: the sublime setting, the absolutely amazing pool, and the delicious food!
Until next time, Little Guest!
