At the beginning of July, I had the chance to visit Corsica, an island I particularly enjoy, and to discover the Hotel Le Pinarello, located in Sainte Lucie de Porto-Vecchio. Here is my feedback on this unforgettable experience.
I had such a good time at this hotel – and I don’t think my son would disagree! My little one really liked Le Pinarello and even called it his favorite ever. Even though it doesn’t have a kids’ club, the hotel makes it very easy for parents to travel and have fun with their children.
The location of the hotel plays an important role in how much it charmed us and how much we liked it. Nestled right on the beach of Pinarello, the beautiful crystal-clear waters are encompassing the hotel. The turquoise waters feel like they are right outside your window. You could almost touch them if you just reached for it… or even dive in them while the kids are having a nap! I couldn’t wait to jump in and go for a swim!
Also, all of the hotel’s services are easily accessible from every room. The breakfast room, the restaurant, the beach, the outdoor activities, or even the infinity pool located on the roof, which offers a breathtaking view of the sea, are only minutes away from the accommodations. The opening hours are restricted for children, which I thought was unfair so I personally made a suggestion to the staff to ease this restriction so that parents and children can arrange their day and have fun on their own. The team was also very receptive and attentive to this idea, a very good point!
On the waterfront, the beach attendants are simply awesome and adorable! Kids have a ball with plenty of beach games, and the adults have fun kayaking or paddle boarding, and together they cruise on the water on the free pedal boats provided for the guests.
The hotel does not provide organized activities, but always put forward different points of interest in the area for us to try. It was another way to spend this vacation that I really liked. The Hotel Le Pinarello is like a vacation home, where you can relax, eat and enjoy life.
There is a sailing school located 120 meters from the hotel (2-minute walk) where courses are opened to children as young as 4 years old, during each school vacation (including Easter and during the fall holidays). The sailing school also offers activities for the grown-ups, of course. As the hotel is on very good terms with this address, it is very easy to register.
If you are not afraid of heights, I suggest you try the huge tree climbing center located 10 minutes from the hotel, for an adventurous afternoon spent swinging from tree to tree. If you want to keep your feet on the ground, you can go visit the natural pools of Cavu (located in the rocks in the lower mountains) 20 minutes away.
As I said, the hotel is surprisingly similar to a vacation home where the only concerns of the day are to rest and eat. A dream!
The main restaurant is located right on the beach. In fact, it is possible to reserve a table right on the sand, which it what we did. This way, our little boy could play happily in the sand and make sandcastles while we dined quietly and enjoyed the evening.
What’s also ideal is that the many restaurants, cafes and heavenly beaches nestled around the hotel, are all within walking distance. This allows you to immerse yourself in the Corsican way of life without having to deal with the strife and strain that every tourist can encounter such as traffic jams which can quickly become a nuisance in high season.
All this trouble can be avoided by staying at the Pinarello, whether you come during the summer or the winter. The hotel is just as pleasant in September, during the fall holidays or at Easter!
A very nice discovery that I can only recommend to you.
With love,
Ariane
